Winger Vincenzo Grifo is having his best-ever season, although he has tailed off somewhat in recent weeks. • Bayern have won nine of their last ten games against French clubs, home and away; the exception is that 3-0 defeat in Paris in September 2017. • The 3-1 defeat of Paris in December 2017 was Bayern's fourth successive victory against French clubs in Munich, having not won in four (D2 L2) before that sequence. Last week's win over Augbsurg was only their second in 2021. Their shooting hasn't been the problem: Robert Lewandowski is on his way to breaking Gerd Muller's record of 40 goals for a single season and as a team (71 goals) they score on average once every 5.5 attempts, which is staggeringly efficient.
